TRIVIA:
The Merchant of Venice reunited Charles Kay with frequent 1960's and '70s thesbian co-stars Jeremy Brett, Joan Plowright and Laurence Oliver, whom he worked under for six years with the National Theatre Company prior to this program.

• Charles Kay previously performed in a stage production of The Merchant of Venice during his run with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the 1960's
