SYNOPSIS:
The British government's nuclear policy is in for a royal drubbing in the tense thriller when London police detective Ron Craven's political-activist daughter is murdered right before his eyes. Meticulously following the trail of clues, Craven uncovers a dark conspiracy involving the government and the powerful American CEO of a nuclear power plant.

Winner of several prestigious awards, it remains highly regarded to this day, often cited as one of the best and most influential pieces of British television drama ever made.
• Edge of Darkness is one of Mr. Kay's most well-known and highly-regarded performances.
• Director Martin Campbell will bring Edge of Darkness to the big screen in 2009, with Mel Gibson in the title role of Ronald Craven. Both Kay and Ian McNeice's characters (Pendleton and Harcourt), however, have been eliminated from the film version.
